Recently I spent time at the beach with family. Living near the coast, you would think I get to enjoy the sand and ocean waves often.
No, I don’t. And I must confess it is my own fault. I am always working, taking care of family, doing chores around the house, running errands, and so forth. Sometimes I have to remind myself to take a time out and enjoy the moment.
On this day at the beach that is just what I did. I put my feet in the sand, laid back, and relaxed. I enjoyed taking in every moment of the breeze blowing my hair, watching my son build a sandcastle with my husband and even playing in the ocean waves, (not too far out of course).
Everyday it is becoming more clear that time will continue to move forward and if we aren’t mindful we will miss the moments that mean the most.
Self care is a major part of a healthy lifestyle. It is essential for mental and physical well being. It can be the key to the motivation you need for success.
Take a moment to evaluate how you spend your time during the week. Do you make time for everyone and everything else, but never for yourself? If so, I challenge you to treat yourself to some dedicated time for self care.
Here is how you get started. Answer these 3 questions.
- What do you plan to do?
- Where will this take place?
- When will you do it?
Setting a plan for the goal will help ensure you make it happen.
I am excited you are thinking about it! Now time to make it happen. Feel free to share your plan below.
