Self care tips for the holidays you must do for YOURSELF
Is your schedule busier than ever? Are your days filled with holiday shopping, attending events, baking treats, and making time for everyone but you? I understand and I get it. That is why I am sharing 3 self care tips for the holidays to help you take care of yourself.
As a busy mom, wife, and professional on the go I can totally relate to not stopping to take time out for yourself. That is why this holiday season I want to encourage you to take time out for yourself with these 3 creative outlets that you can use as self care for yourself right now and all year long!
Why do you need to take time out for self care?
BECAUSE you totally deserve it and it will help you relieve stress and feel in charge instead of out of control. It’s easy, let me tell you how.
- Sing out loud. We all have that one song that when we hear it, it makes us activate our inner diva and we are on top of the world. For me 1 song that comes to mind (particularly in my younger days many years ago) is Independent Women by Destiny’s Child. I want you to find your song, hit play, and sing it out loud. Go ahead and dance too! Just have fun with it.
Write it out. Grab a pen and paper (or even that journal you haven’t used in forever because you don’t make time for it). Write down how you feel at the moment. Then write down everything you accomplished today, no matter how small or big (even putting on matching clothes counts!). Lastly, write out what you want to do better tomorrow. In as little as 5 minutes you’ve reflected on your daily achievements and made goals to be better. This is the type of praise report we can give ourselves daily. It’s perfectly okay to clap for yourself.
Close your eyes. Take a few moments to close your eyes and just breathe. Allow your body to just relax as you venture off to a favorite vacation spot or enjoy memories of a special person and times spent together. There is comfort and peace with us at all times. We just have to stop, close our eyes, and be willing to activate it.
These 3 easy self care tips are what I recommend to help you stay connected with yourself and promote self care during this busy time of year. I know you will find them very useful during your busy daily routine. Give them all a try and let me know which is you favorite?
You body and mind will thank you!
